Ayurveda is a traditional holistic science that is not aimed at symptomatic relief. Its goal is to achieve complete relief by coordinating the actions of the body, mind and soul. The body is composed of base materials as doshas (energies), dhathus (tissues) and malas (waste). The disease is caused by an imbalance and it is the balance that brings health. The goal of treatment is to find that balance.
