Ayurveda is a science of life with a holistic approach to health and personalized medicine. It is also known to be a complete medical system that comprises physical, psychological, philosophical, ethical, and spiritual health. Ayurveda can treat many chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, arthritis, asthma, etc., According to the World Health Organization (WHO), about 80% of the world’s population relies on non-conventional medicines mainly herbal sources. As well, evidence-based research is highly needed for global recognition and acceptance of Ayurveda.
Our lab is mainly working on the quality testing of the medicines prepared in the Ayurveda Herbal Making Unit (Vaidyashala). Some of the basic tests like pH, Moisture percentage, Alcohol percentage, Refractive Index, etc., are carried out for the prepared samples concerning Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India (API) & Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) guidelines. It has been approved by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
